تَنزِيلُ(The) revelation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ(of) the Book
لَا(there is) no
رَيْبَdoubt
فِيهِabout it
مِنfrom
رَّبِّ(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds
2

[This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds.

3
أَمْOr
يَقُولُونَ(do) they say
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۚHe invented it
بَلْNay
هُوَit
ٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truth
مِنfrom
رَّبِّكَyour Lord
لِتُنذِرَthat you may warn
قَوْمًۭاa people
مَّآnot
أَتَىٰهُمhas come to them
مِّنany
نَّذِيرٍۢwarner
مِّن قَبْلِكَbefore you
لَعَلَّهُمْso that they may
يَهْتَدُونَbe guided
3

Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muḥammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided.

4
ٱللَّهُAllah
ٱلَّذِى(is) the One Who
خَلَقَcreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَand the earth
وَمَاand whatever
بَيْنَهُمَا(is) between them
فِىin
سِتَّةِsix
أَيَّامٍۢperiods
ثُمَّThen
ٱسْتَوَىٰestablished Himself
عَلَىon
ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖthe Throne
مَاNot
لَكُمfor you
مِّن دُونِهِۦbesides Him
مِنany
وَلِىٍّۢprotector
وَلَاand not
شَفِيعٍ ۚany intercessor
أَفَلَاThen will not
تَتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heed
4

It is Allāh who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?

5
يُدَبِّرُHe regulates
ٱلْأَمْرَthe affair
مِنَof
ٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven
إِلَىto
ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth
ثُمَّthen
يَعْرُجُit will ascend
إِلَيْهِto Him
فِىin
يَوْمٍۢa Day
كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ(the) measure of which is
أَلْفَa thousand
سَنَةٍۢyears
مِّمَّاof what
تَعُدُّونَyou count
5

He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.

6
ذَٲلِكَThat
عَـٰلِمُ(is the) Knower
ٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the hidden
وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِand the witnessed
ٱلْعَزِيزُthe All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful
٦

That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,

7
ٱلَّذِىٓThe One Who
أَحْسَنَmade good
كُلَّevery
شَىْءٍthing
خَلَقَهُۥ ۖHe created
وَبَدَأَand He began
خَلْقَ(the) creation
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ(of) man
مِنfrom
طِينٍۢclay
7

Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay.

8
ثُمَّThen
جَعَلَHe made
نَسْلَهُۥhis progeny
مِنfrom
سُلَـٰلَةٍۢan extract
مِّنof
مَّآءٍۢwater
مَّهِينٍۢdespised
8

Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.

9
ثُمَّThen
سَوَّىٰهُHe fashioned him
وَنَفَخَand breathed
فِيهِinto him
مِنfrom
رُّوحِهِۦ ۖHis spirit
وَجَعَلَand made
لَكُمُfor you
ٱلسَّمْعَthe hearing
وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَand the sight
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚand feelings
قَلِيلًۭاlittle
مَّا[what]
تَشْكُرُونَthanks you give
9

Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful.

10
وَقَالُوٓا۟And they say
أَءِذَاIs (it) when
ضَلَلْنَاwe are lost
فِىin
ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth
أَءِنَّاwill we
لَفِىcertainly be in
خَلْقٍۢa creation
جَدِيدٍۭ ۚnew
بَلْNay
هُمthey
بِلِقَآءِin (the) meeting
رَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lord
كَـٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers
10

And they say, "When we are lost [i.e., disintegrated] within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers.

11
۞Say
قُلْWill take your soul
يَتَوَفَّـٰكُم مَّلَكُ(the) Angel
ٱلْمَوْتِ(of) the death
ٱلَّذِىthe one who
وُكِّلَhas been put in charge
بِكُمْof you
ثُمَّThen
إِلَىٰto
رَبِّكُمْyour Lord
تُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned
١١

Say, "The angel of death who has been entrusted with you will take you. Then to your Lord you will be returned."

12
وَلَوْAnd if
تَرَىٰٓyou (could) see
إِذِwhen
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals
نَاكِسُواْ(will) hang
رُءُوسِهِمْtheir heads
عِندَbefore
رَبِّهِمْtheir Lord
رَبَّنَآOur Lord
أَبْصَرْنَاwe have seen
وَسَمِعْنَاand we have heard
فَٱرْجِعْنَاso return us
نَعْمَلْwe will do
صَـٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)
إِنَّاIndeed, we
مُوقِنُونَ(are now) certain
١٢

If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."

13
وَلَوْAnd if
شِئْنَاWe (had) willed
لَأَتَيْنَاsurely We (would) have given
كُلَّevery
نَفْسٍsoul
هُدَٮٰهَاits guidance
وَلَـٰكِنْbut
حَقَّ(is) true
ٱلْقَوْلُthe Word
مِنِّىfrom Me
لَأَمْلَأَنَّthat I will surely fill
جَهَنَّمَHell
مِنَwith
ٱلْجِنَّةِthe jinn
وَٱلنَّاسِand the men
أَجْمَعِينَtogether
١٣

And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.

14
فَذُوقُوا۟So taste
بِمَاbecause
نَسِيتُمْyou forgot
لِقَآءَ(the) meeting
يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَآ(of) this Day of yours
إِنَّاIndeed, We
نَسِينَـٰكُمْ ۖhave forgotten you
وَذُوقُوا۟And taste
عَذَابَ(the) punishment
ٱلْخُلْدِ(of) eternity
بِمَاfor what
كُنتُمْyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَdo
14

So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do."

15
إِنَّمَاOnly
يُؤْمِنُbelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاin Our Verses
ٱلَّذِينَthose who
إِذَاwhen
ذُكِّرُوا۟they are reminded
بِهَاof them
خَرُّوا۟fall down
سُجَّدًۭاprostrating
وَسَبَّحُوا۟and glorify
بِحَمْدِ(the) praises
رَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lord
وَهُمْand they
لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩are not arrogant
15

Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allāh] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.

16
تَتَجَافَىٰForsake
جُنُوبُهُمْtheir sides
عَنِfrom
ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ(their) beds
يَدْعُونَthey call
رَبَّهُمْtheir Lord
خَوْفًۭا(in) fear
وَطَمَعًۭاand hope
وَمِمَّاand out of what
رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْWe have provided them
يُنفِقُونَthey spend
16

Their sides part [i.e., they arise] from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.

17
فَلَاAnd not
تَعْلَمُknows
نَفْسٌۭa soul
مَّآwhat
أُخْفِىَis hidden
لَهُمfor them
مِّنof
قُرَّةِ(the) comfort
أَعْيُنٍۢ(for) the eyes
جَزَآءًۢ(as) a reward
بِمَاfor what
كَانُوا۟they used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَdo
17

And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes [i.e., satisfaction] as reward for what they used to do.

18
أَفَمَنThen is one who
كَانَis
مُؤْمِنًۭاa believer
كَمَنlike (him) who
كَانَis
فَاسِقًۭا ۚdefiantly disobedient
لَّاNot
يَسْتَوُۥنَthey are equal
18

Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.

19
أَمَّاAs for
ٱلَّذِينَthose who
ءَامَنُوا۟believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِrighteous deeds
فَلَهُمْthen for them
جَنَّـٰتُ(are) Gardens
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ(of) Refuge
نُزُلًۢا(as) hospitality
بِمَاfor what
كَانُوا۟they used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَdo
19

As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Refuge as accommodation for what they used to do.

20
وَأَمَّاBut as for
ٱلَّذِينَthose who
فَسَقُوا۟are defiantly disobedient
فَمَأْوَىٰهُمُthen their refuge
ٱلنَّارُ ۖ(is) the Fire
كُلَّمَآEvery time
أَرَادُوٓا۟they wish
أَنto
يَخْرُجُوا۟come out
مِنْهَآfrom it
أُعِيدُوا۟they (will) be returned
فِيهَاin it
وَقِيلَand it (will) be said
لَهُمْto them
ذُوقُوا۟Taste
عَذَابَ(the) punishment
ٱلنَّارِ(of) the Fire
ٱلَّذِىwhich
كُنتُمyou used (to)
بِهِۦ[in it]
تُكَذِّبُونَdeny
20

But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."

21
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمAnd surely, We will let them taste
مِّنَof
ٱلْعَذَابِthe punishment
ٱلْأَدْنَىٰthe nearer
دُونَbefore
ٱلْعَذَابِthe punishment
ٱلْأَكْبَرِthe greater
لَعَلَّهُمْso that they may
يَرْجِعُونَreturn
21

And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will return [i.e., repent].

22
وَمَنْAnd who
أَظْلَمُ(is) more unjust
مِمَّنthan (he) who
ذُكِّرَis reminded
بِـَٔايَـٰتِof (the) Verses
رَبِّهِۦ(of) his Lord
ثُمَّthen
أَعْرَضَhe turns away
عَنْهَآ ۚfrom them
إِنَّاIndeed, We
مِنَfrom
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminals
مُنتَقِمُونَ(will) take retribution
22

And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.

23
وَلَقَدْAnd certainly
ءَاتَيْنَاWe gave
مُوسَىMusa
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Scripture
فَلَاso (do) not
تَكُنbe
فِىin
مِرْيَةٍۢdoubt
مِّنabout
لِّقَآئِهِۦ ۖreceiving it
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُAnd We made it
هُدًۭىa guide
لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَfor the Children of Israel
23

And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And We made it [i.e., the Torah] guidance for the Children of Israel.

24
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We made
مِنْهُمْfrom them
أَئِمَّةًۭleaders
يَهْدُونَguiding
بِأَمْرِنَاby Our Command
لَمَّاwhen
صَبَرُوا۟ ۖthey were patient
وَكَانُوا۟and they were
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاof Our Verses
يُوقِنُونَcertain
24

And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.

25
إِنَّIndeed
رَبَّكَyour Lord
هُوَ[He]
يَفْصِلُwill judge
بَيْنَهُمْbetween them
يَوْمَ(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) Resurrection
فِيمَاin what
كَانُواْthey used (to)
فِيهِ[in it]
يَخْتَلِفُونَdiffer
٢٥

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
