بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
وَٱلذَّٲرِيَـٰتِBy those scattering
ذَرْوًاdispersing
١

By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]

2
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِAnd those carrying
وِقْرًاa load
٢

And the [clouds] carrying a load [of water]

3
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِAnd those sailing
يُسْرًا(with) ease
٣

And the ships sailing with ease

4
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِAnd those distributing
أَمْرًاCommand
٤

And the [angels] apportioning [each] matter,

5
إِنَّمَاIndeed, what
تُوعَدُونَyou are promised
لَصَادِقٌ(is) surely true
٥

Indeed, what you are promised is true.

6
وَإِنَّAnd indeed
ٱلدِّينَthe Judgment
لَوَٲقِعٌ(is) surely to occur
٦

And indeed, the recompense is to occur.

7
وَٱلسَّمَآءِBy the heaven
ذَاتِfull of
ٱلْحُبُكِpathways
٧

By the heaven containing pathways,

8
إِنَّكُمْIndeed, you
لَفِى(are) surely in
قَوْلٍۢa speech
مُّخْتَلِفٍۢdiffering

Indeed, you are in differing speech.

9
يُؤْفَكُDeluded away
عَنْهُfrom it
مَنْ(is he) who
أُفِكَis deluded
٩

Deluded away from it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is he who is deluded.

10
قُتِلَCursed be
ٱلْخَرَّٲصُونَthe liars
١٠

Destroyed are the misinformers

11
ٱلَّذِينَThose who
هُمْ[they]
فِى(are) in
غَمْرَةٍۢflood
سَاهُونَ(of) heedlessness
11

Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.

12
يَسْــَٔلُونَThey ask
أَيَّانَWhen
يَوْمُ(is the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ(of) Judgment
١٢

They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"

13
يَوْمَA Day
هُمْthey
عَلَىover
ٱلنَّارِthe Fire
يُفْتَنُونَwill be tried
١٣

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire.

14
ذُوقُوا۟Taste
فِتْنَتَكُمْyour trial
هَـٰذَاThis
ٱلَّذِى(is) what
كُنتُمyou were
بِهِۦfor it
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَseeking to hasten
14

[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."

15
إِنَّIndeed
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteous
فِى(will be) in
جَنَّـٰتٍۢGardens
وَعُيُونٍand springs
15

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

16
ءَاخِذِينَTaking
مَآwhat
ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚtheir Lord has given them
إِنَّهُمْIndeed, they
كَانُوا۟were
قَبْلَbefore
ذَٰلِكَthat
مُحْسِنِينَgood-doers
16

Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

17
كَانُوا۟They used to
قَلِيلًۭاlittle
مِّنَof
ٱلَّيْلِthe night
مَا[what]
يَهْجَعُونَsleep
17

They used to sleep but little of the night,

18
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِAnd in the hours before dawn
هُمْthey
يَسْتَغْفِرُونَwould ask forgiveness
١٨

And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

19
وَفِىٓAnd in
أَمْوَٰلِهِمْtheir wealth
حَقٌّۭ(was the) right
لِّلسَّآئِلِ(of) those who asked
وَٱلْمَحْرُومِand the deprived
19

And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.

20
وَفِىAnd in
ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth
ءَايَـٰتٌۭ(are) signs
لِّلْمُوقِنِينَfor those who are certain
20

And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]

21
وَفِىٓAnd in
أَنفُسِكُمْ‌ۚyourselves
أَفَلَاThen will not
تُبْصِرُونَyou see
٢١

And in yourselves. Then will you not see?

22
وَفِىAnd in
ٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven
رِزْقُكُمْ(is) your provision
وَمَاand what
تُوعَدُونَyou are promised
٢٢

And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.

23
فَوَرَبِّThen by (the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَآءِ(of) the heaven
وَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth
إِنَّهُۥindeed, it
لَحَقٌّۭ(is) surely (the) truth
مِّثْلَ(just) as
مَآ[what]
أَنَّكُمْyou
تَنطِقُونَspeak
23

Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.

24
هَلْHas
أَتَـٰكَreached you
حَدِيثُ(the) narration
ضَيْفِ(of the) guests
إِبْرَٲهِيمَ(of) Ibrahim
ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored
٢٤

Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? -

25
إِذْWhen
دَخَلُوا۟they entered
عَلَيْهِupon him
فَقَالُوا۟and said
سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖPeace
قَالَHe said
سَلَـٰمٌۭPeace
قَوْمٌۭa people
مُّنكَرُونَunknown
25

When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace; [you are] a people unknown."
